Welcome to AID Training



Welcome to Aid Training, you have now been successfully enrolled on your course through Moodle. Our training is of the highest standard and our courses designed and delivered by a team with personal experience. Through Moodle we will support you to achieve your course providing a range of teaching and learning materials.


Your Trainers / Assessors are Lynda Ashman, Hugh Brooker and Nick Bailey. We are located in the Head Office of Aid Training and Operations and are here to support you to achieve.


Meet your Trainers


Lynda Ashman


Lynda has a full and varied background within Learning and Development that comes from her experiences of teaching and learning of over 28 years.


Lynda has considerable expertise in all aspects of Management and Development. In one of her previous roles as training manager with a leading leisure group, she was responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of a wide range of learning and development initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and profitability of the leisure centres.

She has exceptional knowledge of RTQ and other accredited programmes, and is able to provide advice and information to individuals and organisations on how to improve their performance through quality training.


Lynda now manages all Quality Assurance processes within AID Training and supports all teaching and learning activities that we at Aid Training deliver.


Furthermore, in paving the way towards professionalism and ongoing development, Lynda has achieved her Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status with the Society for Education and Training.


Nick Bailey


Nick has considerable experience in training and development, working with apprenticeships since 2001. 


Alongside this, Nick has worked in Further Education colleges and private training providers, delivering training and support in the Health and Fitness industry as well as Customer Service, Business Administration, Team Leading and Management.


Nick is responsible for the support and assessment of our online system as well as delivering the teaching for our Level 3 and Level 4 Education and Training courses, including the Assessors and Internal Quality Assurance qualifications to businesses throughout the country.


Nick's many years of experience in learning and development as well as teaching has enabled him to have a full understanding of RTQ qualifications.


Nick's qualifications has been updated more recently with the award of Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status through the Society for Education and Training.


Hugh Brooker 


Hugh makes up the third and last member of our training and development team.


Hugh has over 25 years of management, training and development experience, working with a range of RTQ Apprenticeships and Learning & Development qualifications for the last 10 years. His specialist subjects include Hospitality; Customer Service; Business Administration; Team Leading and Management.


As well as course co-ordination; Hugh also supports the assessment of our online system as well as delivering the teaching for our Assessor Award programme and Level 3 Education and Training courses throughout the country.


Hugh now delivers our Mental Health First Aid qualifications throughout the country.

Available courses

You have enrolled onto the Level 3 Award in Education and Training.

 

It is a requirement of your course to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP). Your ILP is a planned approach of learning for you to set personal targets (SMART) and record achievements. It helps you identify all your learning and support needs in relation to the type and length of this programme.

 

Completing your ILP will assist you to take ownership of your future and support you in your distance learning, by reminding you what you have learned, achieved and enjoyed.

 

We have attached your ILP template for you to begin completing.


Your award is made up of a series of assignments with tasks, all of which can be completed remotely using the Moodle platform, except for your micro-teach. We are required to observe you deliver this group teaching session on a topic within your own sector area, you will need to deliver to a minimum of 3 individuals who will also be required to give you value added feedback on your micro-teach session. Please contact us to arrange a time for us to observe the delivery of this session.


You have enrolled onto the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.

In order to complete this certificate you must be able to demonstrate the required standards of English and Mathematics skills required to undertake this qualification.This needs to be captured and recorded from an initial assessment which will form part of the portfolio of evidence.

Should you hold current (meaning within the last 5 years) certificates demonstrating your English and Mathematics attainment at Level 2 or above then please upload copies of these documents to Moodle.

If you do not have current certificates then you will need to complete the diagnostics attached within the diagnostics section.

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is a first stage teaching qualification which has a teaching/training practice requirement. It is an 'in service' qualification designed for those working or wishing to work as teachers/trainers in England. It may be possible for pre-service teachers/trainers (defined as those who are not formally contracted as teachers/trainers) to also complete this qualification. All candidates, whether pre-service or in-service must have access to 30 hours of teaching. This qualification is also suitable for those delivering education and training in any learning environment

There is a requirement for a minimum of 30 hours teaching/training practice and a minimum of three teaching/training practice observations, which must reach the required standard of practice.

During the certificate, you will be asked to deliver three one-hour sessions (group learning sessions) that are to be observed and graded.At least one observation needs to be awarded at a grade of level 2, the required grade.We would hope to arrange sessions that you may either attend our attended courses rather than "Moodle Assessment”, or arrange times that we can visit you at your own Teaching and Learning Venue. This is to be arranged to suit all parties involved.

The observed sessions will enable you to meet the full criteria of the award in showing transparency of learning.An observation report for each session will be completed by your tutor and this will be added as evidence within your portfolio.To support this, you will be asked to complete a self-reflection and justification log of approaches to the strategies used.Again, this will be added as evidence within your portfolio.


You have enrolled onto the Level 3 Assessors Award.

It helps you identify all your learning and support needs in relation to the type and length of this programme.

 This qualification includes all of the following units:

  •  Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment - This covers the theory of assessing only
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment - this is aimed at those who carry out work based assessments - either using National Occupational Standards, Nationally recognised standards or a companies' own standards
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement - this is aimed at those who may assess outside of the workplace i.e. the classroom or workshop

and as such is ideally suited for those assessing a range of activities - or those whose circumstances may change, it has great longevity.

This award is approved by the MOD in support of the ELC scheme.
